Hairology
Way back in 2007, I made the mistake of cutting my own hair. Now, I had been cutting my own hair for a year before that, but it was just the occasional trim. Well, this time, I wanted a new hairstyle. I cut almost three inches off. My hair used to be almost to my lower back. Now, it was just below my shoulder blades.
Well, despite all my efforts (conditioning on a regular basis, avoiding shampooing too often, using combs instead of brushes) my hair has never been that long again. I even made sure I trimmed it every couple months to take care of those pesky split ends.
Then I read somewhere that trimming your hair has nothing to do with its length nor does it help.
WHAT.
ALL THIS TIME.
ALL THOSE INCHES I COULD HAVE ON MY HAIR.
Turns out, the key to long hair is not cutting it.
HAHAHAHA WHO’DA THUNK?!
So I haven’t cut my hair in months and I’m finally starting to see an increase in length. It makes me happy. And I hardly have split ends anymore.
TL;DR
DON’T CUT YOUR HAIR IF YOU WANT IT TO GROW LONGER. DUH.
